With over twenty years of artistic experience, I work across diverse mediums including drawing, painting, clay, and printmaking. My practice has been shaped by formal study, art courses, and extensive self-directed exploration, resulting in a distinctive and versatile approach to image-making. My work moves between figurative and abstract, exploring tension between detail and spontaneity. Recently, I have focused on female faces and forms, emphasizing the power of females. I shift between highly detailed compositions and expressive, gestural forms, guided by curiosity, intuition, visual storytelling, and emotional resonance across media, process, and evolving themes within contemporary practice and personal expression.

Sara Murphy is a lino print artist who uses inspiration from nature and everyday life to produce pieces connecting with viewer’s emotions and thoughts. Her works speak through use of colour, texture and line, transforming simplicity into a message beyond the image presented.
