Pat McKenzie works from her studio on The Glen farm. Working in all mediums and is enticed with any subject matter. She participates in many solo exhibitions and art shows with many works now being held in private collections in Australia and Internationally. She presently teaches oil and watercolour painting.Pats’ artistic journey began seriously after moving to live in Aireys Inlet in 1995.
Living and working on the farm she is surrounded by cattle, horses, kangaroos, wild duck and the occasional echidna & koala wandering through. Surrounded by National Park and only 5 minutes from the famous Great Ocean Road, there is much to give inspiration.
She works in all mediums, depending on the subject matter, with no real preference, but enjoys them all.
She has won many awards for her work and has held 5 solo exhibitions at the Victorian Artists Society in Melbourne, also several exhibitions at Eagles’ Nest Fine Art Gallery in Aireys Inlet and been a part of joint exhbitions in Wintergarden , and 101 Ryrye Arts Geelong.
She has been a finalist in the ANL Maritime exhibition at the Mission to Seafarers for the past 4 years and a finalist in the National Equine Prize in Mansfield.
She has been a part of the Surf Coast Arts Trail since its inception 9 years ago where she opens her studio to visitors and enjoys meeting and discussing her work, & the farm.
Pat was commissioned to paint 12 watercolours for the Great Ocean Road Chocolaterie & Icecreamery and these images are now used on their gourmet range of chocolates.
Pat is a sought after judge of art shows around the area.
Pat has travelled extensively with her paints both in Australia and overseas, with much of this work being used for inspiration for her exhibitions.
Many of her paintings are now hanging in private collections both in Australia and Internationally.
She is presently working on la body of work for a solo exhibition in the Eagles’ Nest Fine Art Gallery, Aireys Inlet next April.
Pat is past President of the Anglesea Art House for 7 years, and Treasurer for 8 years.
She presently tutors weekly oil & watercolour classes at the Geelong Art Society, oil & acrylic classes at the Anglesea Art House and watercolour classes in Torquay
She is a country member of the Victorian Artists Society.
