In my practice, surface decoration inspires simple tableware & complex architectural sculptures which often come with the challenges of combining ceramics with metal, stone & wood.
Castle Heads is a sculptural collection. Each piece is unique whilst being recognizable and akin to another. The castle a symbol of protection has its form abstracted, expanding turrets act as antennas picking up frequencies that signal the head. Each one is connected and on its own trip. They continue to ascend and evolve.

I enjoy working in clay and experimenting with different glazes and clays at various temperatures with electric kilns. I also paint and draw in acrylic, goauche, watercolour, pastel and wax crayon. The work sometimes has references to the coastal environment, otherwise it is abstract focused on shape, pattern and colour.
