Janet Bromley a Yorta Yorta artist who grew up in South Gippsland. Mum to two children and Grandmother to a mob of grandchildren. She spent most of her life living in Melbourne, working, bring up children and making art for fun. In 2013 she applied to La Trobe University in Bendigo to study a Bachelor of Creative Art. After starting classes and lectures she soon found that rather than being a painter she was a maker, builder and story teller. When she started university, she realised this was an opportunity to explore issues she had seen in her life and career in mental health and welfare. Issues like displacement, loss, heritage, separation from family, Country and the invisible in our society.
Janet is part of the Wayapawarr Watnada Marangee Project.
