Since childhood I have had a pen in my hand and my grandfather encouraged me to try drawing and watercolour painting and over the years I have honed my skills not just in water colour but pen and ink and oils. I draw and paint in detail from a variety of subjects that I find interesting at the time. My influence, I suppose, has come from artists like Salvador Dali who mixed fantasy with reality but you know he had skills and technique in his painting. I'm not one to splash paint onto canvas and call that art. I want viewers to see my ability and if they like it, all well and good, but if not, I'm not going to get upset. My aim is to get better with each painting up until I can't hold a brush anymore.
